New Fundraiser

While our Just Love Coffee Fundraiser is will run indefinitely, we are adding another one.
Nikki has made flower headbands to sell, and all of the proceeds will go towards funding out adoption.
This is the best way that we were able to figure to make it work:
  1. Send an email to mrsnikkialford@gmail.com and tell us which one you want or which fabric/ribbon you would like me to use to make one.  We will "reserve" it for you.
  2. Donate through the Pay Pal account for Help Christians Adopt. You can use the button in the sidebar. (See prices under the pictures.)
  3. Since we do not have direct access to the Pay Pal account, we need some proof that you've donated. You may either forward the Pay Pal confirmation email (with the personal details deleted) or send us a screen cap of the confirmation. Also, at this time, give us your mailing address if we do not see you regularly.
  4. Then we will get your headband in the mail.
Here are the headbands that Nikki has made so far:

black with shiny circles
cream headband with blue flower
gold frayed Oriental floral print
3 green floral print
blue baby headband
red and cherry print baby headband

The following are flowers that I've made but not yet put on a headband. If you would like any of these, please tell me what type of headband you want (regular or baby). I can also attach them to hairclips that can be used in a girl's hair or clipped to a baby headband.
red polka dot & navy gingham

pink gingham

small, gray flower (good for a clip)
I have these fabrics and ribbons that I can make more flowers from. If you would like a custom-made headband or clip, please be descriptive in the pattern, number or flowers (usually 3 small or 1 large), and type of headband/clip.
(the white has stars on it)

The prices are $5 for a headband or $4 for a clip plus $2 if I have to ship it.

Fundraising Update

Earlier this week we received our first check of $25 from our Just Love Coffee Fundraiser. We really appreciate those who purchased coffee and helped us out. Because of Just Love's policies, the check came to us, was deposited into my personal account, and I have now "donated" the money into the Pay Pal account for Help Christians Adopt.  This fundraiser will be open until the time that we are blessed with a child.
Soon I will be posting details on another fundraiser that will have a handmade flair.
Thank you again for your support and your prayers.

A Little More About Us

While we have known some of you for years, others we may never meet this side of heaven, so we'd like to tell you more about ourselves.
Jeremy was born in Pensacola, Florida and moved to Taiwan when he was a year old when his family moved there to do mission work. When he was ten, they moved to the Birmingham area, Alabama, and he’s lived in the state ever since.  He started at Faulkner University in 1997 and transferred to Patterson Technical College in 1999, from which he graduated in 2001 with a degree in Drafting Design Technology.
I was born in Athens, Georgia, and after a few moves within the Atlanta area, lived in Snellville, Georgia from the age of four until college.  I began college at Faulkner University in 2000 and met Jeremy soon thereafter.  We got engaged during my sophomore year and married in December 2002, in the middle of my junior year. I graduated in 2004 with a degree in elementary education.
We now live in Montgomery, Alabama and attend Panama Street church of Christ where Jeremy teaches teens and I teach 3 and 4 year olds. Jeremy works at Burt Steel, and I teach 5th and 6th grades at Three Rivers Academy.
Jeremy enjoys gardening as well as canoeing, hiking, and camping.  I like running and photography and also joining Jeremy on the river and in the woods. We both always make time for studying God’s word daily.
God has blessed us so much in our life together, and we can’t wait until we are even further blessed when He gives us a precious child.

Welcome

Welcome to our adoption story blog!

My name is Nikki, and my husband's is Jeremy. We have been married for 9 years and started the adoption process about a year and a half ago.  After a couple years of trying to conceive and much prayer and discussion, we decided that God's plan for us to be parents must be through adoption. We are adopting domestically through Christian Family Services in Gainesville, FL.
Soon I will introduce Jeremy and myself more thoroughly. Thank you for taking an interest in our adoption journey.
"Adoption is when the child grows in his parents' hearts instead of his mommy's tummy."
